Founded in 1913 by Augus Claas, Claas is a family business with headquarters now in Harsewinkel, Germany.

Augus Claas originally produced straw binders with his brothers Franz and Theo and the company has grown to manufacture a vast range of agricultural machinery including combine harvesters, tractors, balers, forage harvesters and forage harvesting equipment. Now seen as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural engineering equipment, Claas is believed to be the top combine harvester manufacturer in the world, producing its 450,000th machine in 2013. It employs around 11,000 staff worldwide and is a large multinational business.

Claas is a strong and well respected brand within the agricultural industry, winning several awards for its machinery, including ‘Tractor of the Year 2014’ and ‘Machine of the Year 2014’ for the Axion 800 tractor and the ‘iF Design Award’ for three of its machines including the Jaguar 800 forage harvester, Scorpion 9055-7044 telescopic loader and the Axion 800 tractor.www.claas.co.uk
